Thank you! This has been one of the busiest summers I've ever had. Phew! After I left NB I flew to Thunder Bay for a week-long visit with my stepson and his family (my husband had already driven out from BC) where we cheered them on in their role as triathalon pariticpants. We drove back via northern Manitoba (lots of dirt roads) and Batoche. There is such wonderful light on the prairies. After two days at home (both spent packing) we headed off for an 8 day kayak trip off the north west coast of Vancouver Island--not a tour, just 4 of us. Another day at home and then up to see my 89 year old Mother in Kelowna for a week. Another day at home and then a road trip to Crater Lake in Oregon. The most amazing blue I've ever seen in a lake. More dirt roads as we navigated by GPS over forest service roads. Home again to visitors for a few days then to Seattle for a week at the Seattle opera (Wagner's Ring Cycle--absolutely wonderful). Got home at 3:30 am Sunday night/monday mornign and then was at work by 8am. Had to go back to work to get rested up! Last weekend we drove the Icefield Parkway in Banff National Park (1100 km on SAturday). I've taken lots and lots of "snapshots" but haven't been able to do much "stay in one place and compose 10 images" shooting. My husband is very indulgent and will turn the car around, back up, wait for me etc., but it is still shooting on the fly. I really do think however, that my grab shots have improved greatly. I will post some soon but we have friends from Greenland arriving Friday. I love seeing the images that have been posted and appreciate the opportunity for us to stay in touch.
